EDGA Education – Performance Training @SADGA -South Africa

The EDGA Education team visited EDGA member country South Africa to deliver a combined player performance training and coach education at The Zwartkop Golf Club in Centurion, ZA. As a guest of SADGA (South African Disabled Golf Association) Mark Taylor, EDGA’s head of Education & Instruction combined performance training for selected attending SADGA players looking to develop their golf and compete at the higher levels of the G4D Tour – 12 PGA of South Africa coaches from various ZA provinces were able to observe players and provide performance coaching advice over the programme.

EDGA extends credit to SADGA who are the first member federation to deliver this hybrid format of training.

As we see the G4D player cohort increasing globally we are also seeing a growing demand for education to support player development, such initiatives provide both players and coaches access to new coaching and training resources to assist players wishing to develop their position in local and elevated events such as the G4D Tour.

Mark Taylor – EDGA Head of Instruction & Education

I would just like to thank you (EDGA) for Mark, to run the first ever combined Coaches Workshop / Player Development Camp which we held at Zwartkop CC, ZA with Dale Hayes as our host.

It really was a great workshop with PGA coaches and our top golfers from Gross and Stableford which was enjoyed by all – the comments and report back from the players and coaches was really good and they all left with a tremendous amount of more knowledge than what they came with. Mark is truly an excellent educator with great knowledge of golf for the disabled and we are extremely grateful to him.

We will be making a 4 minute production for flighting on SuperSport with our first AAGT program and I will send you a copy, once done.

Again – Thanks to EDGA, Zwartkop CC and of course Mark !!!!

Regards

Lily Reich
