The EDGA Development Team will visited the Real Spanish Federation of Golf (RFEG) between the 17 -18 October following the DP World Tour/G4D Estrella Damm N.A. Andalucia Masters.
Mark Taylor, EDGA Head of Development, Instruction & Education worked collectively with both the RFEG and the PGA of Spain to deliver a two day coach education programme, providing practical, implicit learning opportunities for the attending delegates to increase their knowledge on coaching golf for the disabled. The two day programme took place at the Madrid Golf Federation multi sport complex offices in the Parque de Hierro, which is situated in the heart of Madrid.
Quote MT: ‘This EDGA coach training will provide a fantastic opportunity for coaches working within our member country of Spain to harness the momentum of the previous week’s G4D event in Valderama, providing them with some invaluable learning opportunities to further support their current 130 registered WR4GD & Access players. Furthermore the training will develop and deliver new opportunities at Sampler level to encourage new players with disability into the game under the auspices of the National Federation. With such an amazing facilty so close to the community, there is huge potential to link local people with disability to future golf programmes. ‘
