EDGA Training @RSM Liverpool

RSM volunteers equipped to change lives in Liverpool through power of golf!

Last week, as part of EDGA’s programme to train volunteers to deliver D3 golf sessions, the EDGA development team were at the RSM UK offices in Liverpool.
‘D3’ is all about introducing people with a disability to golf in their local community, creating a safe environment conducive to learning whilst ensuring those taking part have a fun experience and go home telling their friends and family that they played some golf.
23 RSM staff and partners attended the energetic and interactive session aimed at breaking down barriers in supporting brand new players, facilitated by EDGA’s Aimi Bullock and Mark Taylor.

Via coaching and peer learning the staff gained the skills and confidence to volunteer in this golf space and understand the impact of learning together, checking for understanding from samplers, and learning the value of good feedback along with the level in which you communicate.

Attendees also recognised a change in mindset and how the skills they had worked on to deliver a D3 session were all transferrable into working life.
Feedback from one attendee was: “In short – brilliant!”
Aimi Bullock, EDGA Development Director, said: “Those who attended learnt more about the EDGA / RSM partnership and how this has helped break down barriers in Golf for the Disabled (G4D) and how together we are changing lives with the power of golf.
“Together we are now looking to work with community groups in the Liverpool area in the lead up to the 2023 EDGA Southport Golf Coast Classic at Formby Hall in September.”
Leading audit, tax and consulting firm RSM UK supports EDGA, the international not-for-profit body that represents 39 golfing countries to introduce 500,000 new people with a disability to golf.
