EDGA’s Head of Education & Instruction Mark Taylor visited New Zealand to deliver training on behalf of EDGA member federation Golf NZ to members of the PGA of New Zealand, at the Remuera Golf Club in Auckland, and Russley Golf Club, Christchurch.
Dear Mark, Thank you so much for today, we received so much great feedback from all attending coaches already! It was really, really good, took a lot away!
Shannon Bird | PGA of NZ
Education Manager
The PGA of New Zealand also received tutor training during the visit, to facilitate the delivery of the EDGA Learning from the Edges resource, which will now be implemented into the PGA of New Zealand existing coach education framework, ensuring that all future cohorts of trainees passing through the ‘PGA Traineeship Program’ will receive specific training to support coaching golfers with limitations, impairment and disability.
Shannon Bird – Education Manager PGA of New Zealand ‘We at the PGA of New Zealand are very proud to be one of the first countries to be implementing the LFTE programme, having Mark in New Zealand has enabled us to better understand how we can position the resource for the optimal implementation inside our existing education programme, the workshop was excellent and we received tremendous feedback from all participants who are now both empowered to deliver more accessible sessions and are also better positioned to support their regular participants who may be playing the game with limitations’.
James Vercoe – Education Coordinator PGA of New Zealand – ‘Experiencing the live delivery and receiving the tutor training has given our team the confidence to deliver the valuable LFTE learning outcomes to our trainee professionals in our future education framework’.
